Rachael Silverstein Maqueen is a sustainable floral designer and freelance photographer. Rachael is the owner of Florals by Rachael Elana and lead photographer at Rachael Elana Photography. Rachael's love affair with florals began as a child and in 2022 launched her floral design company. She services Denver and Boulder with full-service on-site floral design services in addition to à la carte offerings such as bouquets and boutonnieres for elopements.
Rachael is not only passionate about the beauty and calming effect of flowers, but she is also committed to making as small of a carbon footprint as possible in a very high-waste industry. The floral industry is one of the biggest contributors to carbon emissions since flowers are regularly flown all over the world. As a member of the Colorado Floral Collective, where she exclusively buys flowers from April thru October from local Colorado flower farms, Rachael strives to use seasonal flowers whenever possible. She does not use floral foam or single-use plastics, composts all floral waste, and loves upcycling! She recently created over 30 arrangements for a large event and 20 of Rachael's vases were repurposed glass pudding jars (though you would never be able to tell).
